How we look after each other
Be kind and neighbourly
Disagree if you need to, but keep it friendly. Everyone here lives a few doors away.
Like this
"I see it differently, but I take your point about the bins."
Not like this
"That's a ridiculous thing to say."
No naming and shaming
If you've got a problem with someone, talk to them or have a word with an admin.
Like this
"Could whoever owns the grey van check their alarm? It went off a few times last night."
Not like this
"Number 14 never sorts their hedge out. Typical."
Ask before posting people or number plates
No photos of people who can be recognised, and no number plates, without permission. This matters most for parking posts.
Like this
"A silver hatchback is parked across the dropped kerb near the top of Evelyn Way."
Not like this
A photo of the car with its number plate showing.
Report crime to the police first
The board helps neighbours keep each other in the loop, but it can't replace the police.
Like this
Call 101, then post: "Two sheds were broken into last night, worth checking yours."
Not like this
Posting about a break-in that's happening now instead of calling 999.
No selling or advertising
Giveaways and honest recommendations are welcome. Adverts aren't.
Like this
"We used a great local plumber last month. Happy to pass on their number."
Not like this
"20% off at my cousin's gutter cleaning business!"
